Halloween : Family Style (wishes vs. realities)
Halloween was expected to be V different this year, let’s be real. 2020 has made all of us become creative and resourceful in ways. I have been saying that I didn’t want 2020 to affect Charlotte’s first holidays TOO much. I am so thankful that she is still too young to understand or even know what Halloween is.
I dreamt of having a family themed costume, like many families on IG. I dreamt of feeling so creative and having that great family, aesthetically pleasing post. Or sitting outside and handing out candy for hours after devouring the chili and cornbread I make every year. HA! That was not the case this year. With a husband who has a job that requires him to be “on call” 24-7 and a baby that has a pretty strict bedtime of 6pm, Halloween was not the most ideal or satisfying to me as a creative/obsessive mom. However, we still had fun dressing up Charlotte in several costumes and cute little outfits throughout the week. I also had a blast doing my makeup that night after Cha went down and before I sat outside with our neighbors to pass out candy (in a social distanced manner, of course).
All of the Charlotte’s costumes/outfits she wore for the week are a combination of Amazon + Old Navy. I have found that Amazon clothes for babies are so great, because they either wear the outfit one time, or get it all messy and ruin it anyway. With Amazon, you won’t feel too guilty about throwing out clothes after 1-2 wears. All outfits are linked below. I know I am a little late to the game here, since Halloween has passed, but the fall outfits are still so cute for the month of November. Thanksgiving still exists people!!! (To those of you who jump straight on the Christmas train).
With that said, I am sooo excited to start talking about the upcoming holidays and the fun crafts I’m doing for those. My mom has already recruited me to help decorate for Thanksgiving, and you know I’m gonna take that seriously. Can’t wait to share some stuff I am brewing up in my mind. Stay tuned.
xx,
Madi
